Maryland Public Employee Information

In the State of Maryland, the Firm represents public employees before the following agencies and courts, in addition to others:

  • State of Maryland Agencies: The Firm represents employees in employment disciplinary legal defense matters before their state agency employers.
  • Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights Defense (LEOBR): Legal Defense for Maryland police officers at the local, county and state Level under LEOBR at the Department and in the Maryland courts.
  • Maryland Commission on Human Relations: (www.mchr.state.md.us) Maryland agency responsible for enforcement of Maryland's laws involving discrimination and harassment in employment, housing, and public accommodations; to provide educational and outreach services related to the provisions of this law; and to promote and improve human relations in Maryland.
  • Montgomery County Merit System Protection Board: County agency responsible for holding hearings for county employees who have been removed, demoted or suspended.

Other Maryland State and County Employee Appeals boards;

  • Maryland Division of Labor and Industry, Employment Standards Service: Maryland agency responsible for issues under the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Law.
  • State of Maryland Courts: The Firm represents public employees for issues related to their employment in the courts of Maryland and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
